About
Based in Accra and Tamale, working across Ghana with a West African outlook.
NexPAL LLC is led by Rahaman Abdul-Salam, a monitoring, evaluation and learning specialist working across development programmes, agriculture, trade and enterprise development.
He holds an MSc in Development Policy and Planning, a diploma in monitoring and evaluation, and a first degree in integrated community development. His work spans programme strategy, field implementation, evidence and commercial decision-making, so he understands both what a development partner has to report and what a business has to decide.
He works in English, Hausa, Twi, Dagbani and Gruni, which matters more than it sounds: it is the difference between supervising fieldwork and listening to it.
He also holds monitoring and evaluation roles on other development programmes, which keeps the practice close to how donors and implementers actually report.
Who leads the work
Every assignment carries a named lead, accountable for delivery and for quality. These are the leads who have carried NexPAL assignments.

Performance measurement and tracer study →How we are set up
NexPAL runs with a small core team and a network of associate consultants brought in for the assignment that needs them. Associates are selected on the specific requirement, the relevant sector and a record we can check. Each assignment has a named lead consultant, accountable for delivery and for quality, and that person is your point of contact throughout.
Enumerator teams are recruited in the districts where fieldwork happens, trained for the specific instrument, and supervised by a field coordinator rather than remotely.
Quality accountability sits with the lead consultant. Instruments, sampling notes and draft reports are reviewed internally before they go to a client, and the review is documented so a client can see what was checked.
Database design, digital collection tools, analysis and dashboards.
Study design, qualitative and quantitative methods, evaluation and reporting.
Inclusive design, GESI assessment, and inclusion in sampling and field protocols.
Value chains, sourcing, agribusiness and market-system analysis.
Enumerator recruitment, training and supervision across Ghana's regions.
Assignment coordination, field logistics and client reporting.
Where we came from
Several of the assignments listed on this site were delivered by the same team under ASRAHMS, before the consulting work was carried on as NexPAL LLC.
NexPAL LLC carries on the consulting work previously delivered under ASRAHMS, with the same lead team and the same clients. Each assignment on this site names the entity that delivered it.
Offices
Our delivery base is Ghana. Tamale is where field operations are run from, which is deliberate: most of the fieldwork we do is in the northern regions, and running it from the north shortens every decision.
We are building the same model outwards across West Africa: a small core team, selected specialists, and field teams recruited where the work is.
We work with international consultancies as a Ghanaian delivery partner, and we are straightforward about what we can and cannot staff.
